Our Services
Our mission is to empower young adults to successfully transition from foster care into independent living with stability and self-reliance. By equipping youth with practical skills and emotional support, we aim to help them build a brighter future and achieve their academic and career aspirations.
-
Our therapeutic services provide group and individual behavioral counseling on-site, facilitated by licensed professionals such as MSW/MS, LPC, ACSW, LCSW, or LMFT. Through these sessions, youth will enhance their communication, problem-solving, coping, and listening skills while establishing healthy boundaries and improving social and relationship skills.
-
Golden Rose-Fowler (GRF) offers interactive Independent Living Skills classes to help youth prepare for successful, independent adulthood. These sessions are hosted by GRF staff, guest speakers, Resource Specialists, and Case Managers, delivering a variety of perspectives and expertise.
Classes cover essential life skills, including:
Resume building and job readiness
Money management, budgeting, and banking
Filing taxes and check writing
Cooking, meal planning, and household management
Cleaning and maintaining a living space
Through hands-on guidance and practical exercises, participants gain the confidence and knowledge needed to thrive in adulthood.

We will support youth living independently while fostering a sense of belonging and community. With dedicated on-site staff available Monday through Friday and a 24-hour on-call Social Worker, we ensure that assistance is always accessible. Our intent is to equip young individuals to thrive in a safe and supportive environment, promoting personal growth and social engagement.
-
Our program gives youth the opportunity to strengthen job readiness and develop valuable workplace skills through real-world learning and hands-on experience. Through partnerships with workforce programs in Fresno and local businesses in the Fowler community, participants are connected to training opportunities, employment resources, and guidance as they begin navigating the job market.
GRF staff work alongside youth to build confidence, explore career interests, and practice essential skills such as interviewing, workplace communication, and professional responsibility. Whether someone is searching for their first job or working toward long-term career goals, our program can give the tools and opportunities needed to move forward with confidence.
-
We are dedicated to delivering access and resources for future students pursuing higher education and vocational training by offering guidance for navigating college applications, financial aid, and trade school enrollment. Youth at Golden Rose-Fowler will achieve academic and career aspirations through a variety of local options, including community colleges such as Reedley City College, Fresno City College, and Fresno State University, as well as trade schools like Fresno Adult School.
-
Free transportation is available for youth to colleges, trade schools, places of employment, medical, dental, and vision appointments, WIC, food banks, Workforce Connections, and Grocery stores. If a youth needs transportation to a location not listed, a request can be made to one of Golden Rose-Fowler’s staff members.
Living Quarters
Golden Rose is a community of single and double-bedroom apartments located in both Fowler and Fresno, California. We offer housing units in both locations for eligible participants, with availability depending on current occupancy.
Each unit is furnished to support comfortable living and includes a private bedroom with a bed, access to a shared kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, dining table with chairs, TV, and couch. A laundry room is also available on both premises for residents.
To support participants in preparing for independence, Golden Rose-Fowler contributes $100 per month from the Non-Minor Dependent’s (NMD) emancipation fund into an Exit Fund savings account.
